Greetings to the 23 things team. I have been most interested to be an observer on this course of web 2.0 exploration, but am not submitting a final report and entry into the certificate route. The nature of my actual job in the Divinity library means I am not required or expected to have ideas to change the way it operates, although I am keen to keep up to date and maybe make a suggestion here and there. This meant that many of the exercises weren't relevant to my work, and I dodn't think up imaginary situation to use them.
I found some of the exercises difficult to follow without a real life situation, delicious for example I could not get to work on my computer at home - maybe because I didn't want to register for a yahoo account.
I am delighted that my senior officer has been following the course, and will implement some of the things - we are due to meet and talk it over before the beginning of term, when he will present his ideas to the junior staff. I was very excited by zotero but couldnt get it to share a bunch of files. Maybe we could explore this when I am back at work, and Darren might have had more experience with it.
I will work my way slowly through the other things, when the pressure is off. Thank you all very much for all the efoort you put into designing the things, and supporting the confused. I look forward to my library leaping forward into this new world, under the leadership of Darren, loyally supported by his junior staff.
I will be away on holiday on the day the final ceremony - have fun!

23 things all at once
After the 23 things campaign has finished I now realise that a blog was intended to record progress on the 23 items, not be a random offering to the world at large. Sorry. Will try to catch up.
Thing 1
I already had a google ID and ig page, but enjoyed enhancing them.
Thing 2
I added the rss feed of 23things blog to my ig page, but haven't yet explored many other rss feeds - later.
Thing 3
Here I am with a second blog, doing what it was intended to do.
I may continue my musings on the other, Jillian's weblog, if only to give my daughter some bedtime stories.
Thing 4
I did register my blog, and have explored other blogs, but I do find it takes even more of my time to do that...there are two which I have followed and been impressed by the applications found for the current things.
I find myself unwilling to go through the exercise of adding a screen shot, but will try it later when no-one is looking.
Thing 5
Several of us did a doodle to focus on a time to meet and eat strawberry tarts, but due to a short absence I missed that This system does seem to assume that you have your ig page open at all times ready to react to events.
Thing 6
yes, I have set up a google calendar, and because I don't look at it much I did find I was still relying on my filofax. It would however be really useful in a colleage situation, where everyone would consult it regularly and make additions.
Thing 7
I have had a twitter account for some time, and rarely look at it: when I do it seems trivial. I have observed that some librarians find it really useful, so will just carry on to Thing 8.
Thing 8
I have read the instructions, and may come back to it later. Good cat picture.
Thing 9
I have tried flickr, and its just overwhelming. If I want an image of something I am much more likely to go to google images.
Thing 10
I will go over this in the new Term with my senior to see if we can make use of it in library presntations.
Thing 11
I cannot see any way in which this would be of use to me in my particular job (very lowly and part-time), but I am interested to know it exists and would probably ask my senior if he thought it had an application in our library.
